2020 Australian of the year, SA Local Hero, Emmah Money is an author, podcast host, mother, MC, motivational speaker, and Cystic Fibrosis Ambassador.  Emmah lives with the life-threatening lung disease Cystic Fibrosis and knows firsthand the challenges that come with this debilitating invisible disease.

With a life expectancy of just 37, was given up for adoption at only days old after doctors believed she wouldn’t survive. Now in her thirties, Emmah has a list of credible achievements and inspires many globally.

After being inducted in the 2020 South Australian Women’s Honour role amongst other community awards, Emmah has a strong and positive presence within the South Australian community. Founder of emPOWER you, a series of women’s empowerment events, Emmah continues to connect women through inspiration, motivation, and empowerment.

As well as speaking at a variety of events across Australia, Emmah mentor’s many within the CF community. Emmah is passionate in raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis; having raised more than $80,000 to support research in finding a cure.

Her podcast, The Princess of Possible launched in June 2022, with the first season featuring inspiring stories of those living with Cystic Fibrosis. With season 2 set to launch in 2023 with a focus on inspiring women within the SA community.

Emmah published her first book, her autobiography; The Words Inside, at 17, going on to win national Australian magazine Girlfriend, Girlfriend of the Year award and becoming the National Youth Ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis.

A passionate and inspiring speaker, Emmah regularly speaks in schools across Australia, inspiring students with her powerful personal account about overcoming obstacles including bullying and depression. She has also shared her story with the likes of former US president Bill Clinton and super chef Jamie Oliver.

Emmah has won numerous awards including the recent announcement on becoming the 2020 South Australian Local Hero and inducted into the 2019 South Australian Women’s Honour roll.

Emmah’s credible list of awards include, 2019 Australia Day Women Hold Up Half the Sky Award, 2018 Commonwealth Games Queens Baton bearer and the Westpac CEO award.

She cites becoming a mother to her two children as one of her greatest achievements to date.

Emmah is a true inspiration and is continuously making a positive impact to the community.

CF Mummy

Motherhood was always something Emmah longed for but given her illness, it was questionable as to if it was even an option.

At the age of 24 the unimaginable happened, Emmah fell pregnant naturally.

With a lack of resources and support at the time, Emmah began CF Mummy.

Through her blog and social media Emmah openly shares her journey as a Mother, Emmah talks about pregnancy and life as a Mum.

Through Emmah's experiences, she shares exactly what it is like to be a Mother with a chronic illness.

The good, the bad and the unexpected.

Cure4CF Foundation

The Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis foundation is a non-for profit organisation.

Cure 4 Cystic Fibrosis exists to find the cure. As individuals we are relentless and passionate in our fight against CF together we form a remarkable force.

Established in 2009, the Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Cure4CF) is a registered not for profit charity with the primary goal of finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Cure4CF seeks to raise funds for the most promising medical research across the nation.
